Could there BE more going on?! Not being able to come up with a title that ties together all the wonderfulness we have going is a great problem to have! Check it all out below:
High School Interact Meeting
One of the amazing things that has happened here at Lowell Area Schools is that we have a club dedicated to helping others at ALL LEVELS. Here at Cherry Creek we have Early Act at the elementary level. There are groups at Lowell Middle School and Lowell High School as well called Interact Clubs. Mr. Audia and Mrs. Connor went to the High School last week to meet with their Interact Club and their leader, Mr. Boudro. It was amazing to see around 90 high school students meeting BEFORE their school day because they are interested in helping other people. Our students here at Cherry Creek were excited to hear that they will be able to continue the work they love through high school!
At the Interact meeting, we presented the group with a painting done by Early Act students. The group has donated money to our group in the past, and we felt it was important to say THANK YOU!

Girl Scouts Are Awesome!
Another group we need to thank are the Girl Scouts of Troop 4129. Just before Spring Break, the girls from Troop 4129 presented Early Act with $100 to help people on Kiva!! We were totally surprised and THRILLED!! Mr. Audia met with the troop at their meeting on Monday and helped them choose some loans. |
"Stamp Out Extreme Poverty"
We are currently running a fundraiser similar to our Help Haiti days and our Purple Pinkie polio days. Students can come to the Early Act store (open Tuesdays and Thursdays) and donate any amount of money to help "Stamp Out Extreme Poverty." Students who donate can choose to have their hands stamped with fun Early Act stamps OR their pinkie colored.
Why are we talking about extreme poverty? Click here and explore the infographic. Our favorite section: The bottom left. Please notice that extreme poverty has been cut in half since 1990!!! This is exciting to us because it means there IS a solution! And we want to be part of it!

We Are Going to be Radio Stars!!
Did you know that Lowell Area Schools has a radio station (92.3 FM)? Stay tuned in the next couple of weeks for information about Early Act's radio debut alongside the Middle School and High School Interact Clubs!!! ;)
