New year. New project! Our members talked today about our next project--. Next week we plan to teach our classmates about why people around the world struggle to find safe water to drink. We will then raise money to donate to an organization called Starfysh. Members of our Lowell Rotary group will be visiting a small village in Haiti called La Gonave. They are working with Starfysh in the next couple of months to install water filters. All of the money raised in this project will go toward this effort. This project is near and dear to our hearts because a similar project planted the seeds for our current Early Act group! The video at the left is not from La Gonave, Haiti, but from Pena Blanca, Guatemala. The situation is similar though, as are the effects of providing access to clean water. Some more facts we shared with our group can be found at this link: Clean Water Facts Stay tuned!! We'll have more to share in the coming weeks! | |
